Te Chuan Gung-Fu

Is my expression of self-defense with heavy influences from the founder of Wu-Wei, Non-Classical Chinese Gung-Fu, Sifu Joseph Cowles. (Sifu Cowles was a direct student of Bruce Lee in Seattle, WA.). Additional inspiration gained from: Tiger Style Gung-Fu, JuJitsu and Western Boxing.

It is my sincere hope that those who practice Te Chuan Gung-Fu, not only enjoy their classes, but be compelled to investigate all forms of martial arts/self-defense.

And finally, to those who stretch, sweat, and workout with me ... THANK YOU!

Principles

  • Te Chuan, as a martial art, seeks to end combative situations quickly and economically.
  • Te Chuan, as an exercise, promotes agility, speed and strength.
  • Te Chuan, as a philosophy, believes that non-physical resolution to confrontation is always prefered.

  • CONGRATULATIONS --
to Dr. Don Hogg, Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church, for demonstrating proficiency in sets 1, 2, 3 & 4 of the mook jong. Don has just begun to study set 5.

Because of Don's determination, interest and natural ability, he should complete all five sets by early Spring 2000. After that, it will be up to him to master the mook jong movements, and find "his own" understanding of its applications.

Rumor has it that Don's personal mook jong is alive and well in his backyward.
